Skullpanda L’impressionnisme Series Box Set Review

Lately, the Pop Mart craze has taken over the world, almost anywhere you go, you will find people of all walks of life going about their lives with a Labubu on their bags, male, female, adult, child, I’ve seen so many different types of people partaking in the trend.

In light of this, it seems that Skullpanda is also getting some recognition, or at least, the plush bag charms, as I’ve seen plush bag charms from multiple Pop Mart IPs selling out everywhere, it seems that wearing a plush trinket on your bag is the real trend right now.

The Skullpanda L’impressionnisme series, released June 6th, 2025, has been relatively popular in terms of Pop Mart bag charms, selling out on its release instantly and staying at a pretty low stock since then, all things considered. Definitely nowhere near the popularity of Labubu, but still quite popular in terms of Pop Mart’s current products.

I first heard of Skullpanda around 2021 or so when I started to see listings for them online. Skullpanda along with Peach Riot were the first Pop Mart IPs I was exposed to. I was always a fan of the designs, as Skullpanda very closely resembles Cherry from Studio Killers. The brand was created by artist Xiong Miao in 2018, with the character Skullpanda being said to be a “freer and more boundless” version of herself, which I adore.

I was not really into the whole blind box collecting scene at the time (I’d still like to think I’m not) as I have trouble with controlling my impulses and can easily overspend, but with the release of the L’impressionnisme series, I decided to throw caution to the wind and buy the entire box set since I fell in love with every design in the series!

The thing that immediately struck me with this series was the sheer beauty of the designs and box art. This whole concept is based off of French impressionism art, which is something I’m already quite fond of, and I feel like the art and designs perfectly encapsulate what they were going for.

In this series, there are 10 designs including one secret design that has a 1/72 probability of being drawn with each box, all others are 1/9.

I am absolutely in love with the design of this box, it is a work of art itself, I had a very hard time throwing it away after, so I cut out some of the artwork to keep it.

This is what the box looks like set up properly, there are 9 boxes inside.

Let’s get to unboxing!

Our first box is Pond!

I was most looking forward to this one, actually, I don’t know what it is about her, but I think she’s so beautiful, I love her glassy eyes and mossy body.

Here is her card, the art is so beautiful, and everything is printed on this cardstock that is very reminiscent of watercolor paper!

I will show the rest of the cards at the end.

Oh and by the way, one of my favorite things about Pop Mart packaging is that they include desiccant packets. I have a long history of collecting dolls and other collectibles and having to deal with mold due to improper storage of warehouses or previous owners. Having one of these in a box does wonders to prevent that. All of the colletibles I’ve gotten from Pop Mart have been so clean and fresh smelling because of these!

Our second box is Teakwood!

I really love this one, personally, as unpopular as it is, I’m a fan of the color brown and she reminds me a lot of autumn trees. I love her soft wistful expression.

Our third box is Mist!

I think this may be my personal favorite of the lineup, I love everything about her. She is based off of a moth, I believe, as she has moth wings. I love her white velvety body, her dark skin, her beautiful gray eyes with little butterfly details inside, she is just magnificent.

I forgot to adjust her eyes for this photo, but all of the characters with open eyes have adjustable gazes which I think is really neat!

Our fourth box is Blossom!

I really adore this one, she is so delicate and wistful, yet melancholy. Her design greatly reminds me of an artist I love, Blaze Wu.

Our fifth box is Windflower!

This girl is so beautiful, I love the muted pinks and glassy eyes that she has, she looks like an innocent cherub. I also love the brambles on her neck attachment

Our sixth box is Amber!

Amber is the only character in the lineup with a removable hood! All characters have some sort of neck attachment that can be removed, but Amber is the only one with a hood.

She is gorgeous, she is very autumn themed, and reminds me of little red riding hood. Her eyes are stunning.

Our seventh box is Dawn!

Dawn reminds me a bit of a Christmas angel, she looks like she could be the shining star on top of a Christmas tree. I adore her makeup and eyes, her soft yellow color exudes warmth.

Our eighth box is Lightning!

This girl is the mascot of the series, she is the character on the main box art, and I can see why! So much work was put into her design and she is absolutely stunning. Purple is my favorite color and I adore the marbling of lilac and periwinkle in her fur. I love her leafy butterfly (?) neck attachment, her soft but striking makeup, and her calm, balanced, yet confident expression.

Truly the star of the show.

Our ninth box is……

The secret?!

I was expecting to open Dew as the ninth box, the only character I hadn’t unboxed, but I was so happy to pull out Secret in the Garden, and on the last box too!

Truthfully, although I love every single design in this series, Dew captures my attention the least, so this was such a perfect alternative (though I still plan on getting her after this lol)

I’m quite unlucky when it comes to blind boxes, so I was very happy to see this gorgeous girl!

She has beautiful soft yellow and peach patterning, cute little freckles, gorgeous striking eyes with flowers inside that always seem to catch the light just right, and a neck attachment with embroidered flowers, along with some on her body too.

This girl has a special gimmick, with the embroidered flowers on her body changing color in UV light! They turn from pale yellow to pink.

Overall, this line is everything I’d dreamed it would be, and I’m happy to have every character (with Dew coming soon). All of these girls will be cherished in my collection.
